ORDERING
The procedure for ordering is as follows:
Please
email us your list of parts. Please include your name, address
and telephone number
and we will confirm back the total including freight cost to your
location. We will quote you and if that is acceptable we will send you a payment
web link for secure credit card payment. If the goods need to be
delivered with any urgency, please let us know with your enquiry because
this may figure in the quote as regards the carrier choice and cost.
Please also bear in mind our minimum order value is £10+VAT (20%).
Alternatively you can call us on
01322 442990 (our answerphone can collect these details outside of UK
hours and on Mondays), or you can fax us on 01322 442886.
We accept Credit cards,
Paypal with a
3% surcharge, International Money
Orders/Drafts (drawn in Pounds Sterling only). We can also accept Swift
Transfers in Pounds Sterling for values over £400 (or under this with a
£12 surcharge to cover UK Bank Charges).
Immediately payment is clear we will despatch
and confirm back to you by email.
POINTS TO
NOTE
Out of Stock Goods - All out of stock goods
are placed on back order, and despatched on the arrival of new stocks,
unless we receive an emailed cancellation request before despatch. Back
orders are fulfilled on a first in first out basis. Credit cards are
only debited when despatch is imminent.
Credit Cards -
For International buyers, many card issuers have an
automatic block on card transactions outside their home territory, in
order to protect against card fraud. If you have problems with getting
your card details through our payment page, we recommend your first
action should be to call your card issuer to let them know and ask them
to free up the card for the transaction. Then try again after a short
time.
To give you more confidence in shopping online
with us, we have introduced Verified by Visa
and Mastercard© SecureCode™. These services enhance your existing
credit/debit card accounts against unauthorised use when you shop with
us. To use this service, you must first register with the bank or other
organisation that issued your card.
Visit the Verified by Visa website
Visit the Mastercard© SecureCode™ website
Once you have registered and created your own
private password with your card issuer, you will be automatically
prompted at the checkout when the card is being processed to provide
this password each time you make a purchase.
Carriage Transit Times and Cost
- Our policy is to despatch goods the same day as payment is processed.
Goods out of stock and other reasons (see above), can cause delays in
despatch of an order. Should there be a reason for a delay in despatch, we will
email you immediately to allow you the option to cancel your order.
The majority of our parts are not listed as freight paid. The customer
is therefore ultimately responsible for all freight costs
and any import tax costs that may apply in your country. We are happy
to offer the best arrangements we can to you for transport. There are
sometimes
multiple options on transit depending on the destination and your
priority, speed or cost. We generally send goods so as to trade off speed against cost. Two to three working day delivery within the UK is
typical. Between 3 and 4 days
transit time to the US is normal. And between 3 and 4
days to Europe. We can arrange for guaranteed timed
services if required.
Please email us at the time of order with your name and address if you
would like this option and we will quote you.
Courier service to most
locations is currently with Fedex.
Long Tubes have a £3+VAT surcharge
United Kingdom (Mainland)

For other parts of the UK, Highlands and
Islands and Northern Island or for other services, just email
for quote.
USA & Canada
In general we send via
courier, normally Fedex, prices start at £15.50 for up to 1 kg. Other
example prices, £33 for 5 kg, or £59 for 15 kg. We will quote a firm
price on enquiry based on the
order you are interested in. Transit time for courier is normally around
3 working days. For lower weight packages (<1.5 kg) and for low goods
values (<£50) we can, on your
request, send by air post (USPS) at a cheaper cost than by courier,
however delivery times by this method can be unreliable even though the
service is quoted as 'air', with 30+ day deliveries feasible because of customs
and US homeland security checks.
Asia and Far East (Including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, S. Korea,
New Zealand, Singapore).
For lower value parcels up
to 2 kg we can send by air post on request as the cheapest method, carriage cost
£30 for 2 kg or less for lower weights, with a transit time of approx 10
working days. However please bear in mind delivery times by this method
can be unreliable even though the service is quoted as 'air'. For a faster transit
time, for higher value goods or for heavier packages we send by Fedex or DHL. Example prices £46 for 5 kg, £85 for 15 kg.
We will quote a firm price on
enquiry based on the order you are
interested in.
To Europe, carriage costings vary
depending on weight and country. For most of Europe a
freight cost of £19+VAT (20%) per consignment for up to 15 kg is normal with a
transit time of 3 to 4 days. Freight cost for
light
consignments (<2 kg) can be quoted by air post if
you request this with a typical delivery time of 4 or 5
working days. The delivery is generally reliable, however the shipping
time can be unreliable and sometimes extends beyond what one would
normally anticipate. We therefore only accept to send by this method for
low value consignments and where the customer accepts the risk of delay. For East and South East Europe other carrier prices may apply, please
just email
for freight information.
For other countries, again please
enquire.
Quotations -
Please do check details on any quotations provided in
detail against your original order/request. We do our best to get things
correct and interpret your needs as best we can. But mistakes or
misunderstandings can happen and can be expensive to correct once the
goods have left our premises. If in any doubt on an item shown in the
quotation, please ask. The final quotation we provide is assumed to be
correct and accepted by you once paid for, and forms the basis of the
contract to supply. Assuming we have supplied the goods correctly as per
the quotation agreed, we do not accept liability for any costs involved
in the return of unsuitable items and/or the supply of replacements.
Package Delivery -
We endeavour to despatch all goods carefully packed and consigned in good condition. They are
signed as despatched in fit state by the carriers
we use who become responsible
for safe transit and delivery. In the
event that any parcel is in bad condition upon arrival, so that the
goods could conceivably be either damaged or missing,
we would kindly request that you
note this fact on the carrier's sheet when the goods
are signed for. Doing so, will speed the process for
resolving our claims with the carrier and expedite the processing of
replacements to you. All claims for loss,
damage or erroneous goods must be made to us within
7 days of the receipt of the goods, or
the claim may not be recognized.
Returns - Should
you wish to return goods, we require that you email us of your intention before
despatch. We will then issue a returns number that should be quoted on
the returns note with the returned goods. All goods despatched to us
must be sent to our address as per our website,
safely packed, recorded delivery carriage and insurance paid and at the
owner's risk. We do not cover return postage on goods
returned due to unsuitability. If you require
urgent replacement parts faster than this returns process enables, we
can arrange this but we would need to charge for the replacements and
then credit any returns afterward on receipt. Goods returned due to unsuitability must be received
in perfect resale condition including all their original packaging and
any documentation. In any other condition the goods will not be
acceptable for credit. If the goods are accepted back in a fit state for
resale, there is a restocking fee of 15% of the invoiced value of the
goods or £5 whichever is higher. Goods returned because of being
received damaged, faulty or
erroneously (this must be reported to us within
7 days
of delivery. See Package Delivery) will be replaced
or credited at our discretion. Used goods that are
still under supplier warranty may be either replaced, repaired or
credited at our discretion, depending on the result of our investigation
into the causes of the problem. Should the goods returned be deemed to
have been damaged through misuse, neglect or mistreatment, i.e. the
damage is not covered under warranty, then we will consult with you by
email as to how you want to proceed, whether to replacement or repair,
both of which will be chargable at the time of return to you.
Guarantee - Goods
are guaranteed for one year from the date of invoice, and the guarantee
covers events occurring during the proper use of the product, excepting
accidental or deliberate damage or any malfunction attributable
to incorrect assembly, imperfect
maintenance, improper use or fair wear and tear. We may annul this
guarantee in cases of damage due to: 1) incorrect assembly, use or
maintenance, 2) Accidents, knocks, self inflicted
damage, tampering and/or modifications to the
original product, 3) Force Majeure, including fire, floods and other
natural disasters, 4) in the case of forks, damage to the finish or in
any product damage of an aesthetic nature due to the use of inappropriate
cleaning products or other chemicals, 5) in the case of tools damage due to abuse or
incorrect use, use without lubricants, use with the wrong lubricants, or
use on materials for which they were not designed, 6) in the case of framebuilding components we sell on the assumption that the builder has
the correct equipment and understanding of correct fabrication methods
in order to produce a safe and suitable product for the intended final use
and user. WARNING
Please note that due to the desire in the sport to produce the lightest
bicycles, some of the components we sell, e.g. tubes, are manufactured
near the safe limit of their raw materials (e.g. light tube thicknesses)
Some components are designed for use for specific
sorts of frame or rider only and can only be built with safety and without
reduced characteristics with a
great deal of builder care, and the correct
expertise. Please ask for advice from a professional
frame builder if you are at all unsure of
your abilities or building equipment.
This guarantee requires the goods to have been
stored in suitable conditions, and used for the purpose intended, all in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. No liability beyond the
replacement of the actual goods supplied will be accepted. In
cases of dispute, the arbiter is the manufacturer.
Taxes - All
prices quoted are nett of UK sales tax. In line with regulations, UK
sales tax will not be charged by us for goods supplied to countries outside of
the European Union. However local or national sales taxes may still be
levied or be liable on part or all of the shipment value upon import and
the carrier may charge a small administration fee for collecting this. If in
doubt, please contact your local customs office. We
do not reduce the declared invoice value for customs purposes to avoid
any import taxes that may be chargeable to you, if they apply. It is
illegal for us to do this and we could be prosecuted and fined for doing
it. Please do not ask us. Inside
the European Union
member states outside of the UK, no sales tax will be charged where a European Union VAT number is supplied and validated.
Exchange Rates
- Any prices shown on this site are quoted in
Pounds Sterling. Conversions are done automatically on payment by credit
or debit card. As a guide to the current market rates, we have provided
the link here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business/market_data/overview/ . Please note however, that each card has a loading on the
current exchange rate, where the credit card company covers its costs
and make its profits. The rates shown are not a guarantee of the
